Speech-Language Pathologist Reading Tutors in Chicago
Expect More From Your Reading Tutor, A Lot More
The teachers at Ravinia Reading Center Chicago are highly specialized clinicians, not primary education generalists or part-time reading tutors. They are more highly educated in language development than what public schools call "reading specialists." We hire only speech-language pathologists with graduate degrees from ASHA-approved programs at respected universities.
We look for exemplary critical-thinking skills that give our teachers the clinical judgment necessary to identify a student's reading weaknesses and tailor the most effective course of instruction, in real time. Ravinia attracts the best Chicago reading tutors from the ranks of speech language pathologists by offering a professional clinic environment, training in our approach, and full time employment with benefits.
Reading Teacher Certifications & Qualifications
The Council For Clinical Certification (CFCC) of ASHA certifies each of the teachers in our clinic, and it is a demanding certification. Only speech-language pathologists who hold a graduate degree or better are eligible to apply for certification, which also requires a supervised fellowship and passing score on a national standards exam. Our speech pathologists possess the skills mandated by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA).
